On Sunday, May 28, the 89th auction of the KODL Gallery took place, which included a number of important works of contemporary art.
In total, almost 220 extraordinary artworks were offered at the 89th auction, including 24 works by contemporary artists, all of which were sold to collectors and enthusiasts. The contemporary art scene, both in the domestic and global context, was more than richly represented in the auction collection. A whole range of famous names across generations and creative media are presented.
All works were also sold, part of the proceeds was transferred to a non-profit account the Paraple Centrum organization. The financial amount this year amounted to CZK 1,107,500. As part of this charity auction, Jaroslav Brabec, Karel Štědré, Eva Fišerová, Jakub Tomáš, Martin Herold, Josef Bolf, Ira Svobodová, Jaroslav Otrub, Pasta Oner and Jaroslav Róna were involved. The charity auction collection was completed by a completely unique painting and a bicycle, the result of a collaboration between the Czech manufacturer of top carbon frames for road bikes Festka and the designer duo Ondrash & Kašpárek. Admirers of contemporary art thus had a unique opportunity to support another extraordinary project and at the same time to please themselves.
Hundreds of visitors came to see the auction. Auctions were held personally in the hall, on telephone lines and also via the Artslimit auction portal. An overview of our current artists' achievements can be found below, and full auction results can be found at artslimit.com.
