Summer Art Salon 2023

19. 6. – 31. 7. 2023, Prague, KODL Gallery

7. 9. – 2. 10. 2023, Helsinki Embassy Gallery

This year, our Summer Art Salon enters the second half of its first decade. When we started the Salon six years ago at Kodl Contemporary, our goal was to present the work of contemporary artists in contexts that were not provided by typical auction production to Czech collectors. As early as the second year, we decided to internationalise the Salon and invited a foreign artist to participate. Over time, this has become a tradition, and this year the Salon is even equally represented by Czech and foreign (namely Finnish) artists. For this reason, we have decided to take our internationalisation efforts one step further, and we are happy to present the first travelling Summer Art Salon, which will move to the Embassy Gallery in Helsinki after its end in Prague. We offer collectors the opportunity to perceive the art of their favourite artists in new contexts and artists the opportunity to present their work to a foreign audience. In this way, we are fulfilling our main mission of advancing the context and boundaries of Czech visual art and placing it in a global framework. For this opportunity, we would like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – the Czech Embassy in Finland, which undertook the organisation and auspices of the exhibition in Helsinki.

Jakub Kodl, owner of Kodl Contemporary

You can look forward to the works of these Czech and Finnish artists: Leena Nio, Lukáš Novák, Miika Nyyssönen, Rony Plesl, Vesa-Pekka Rannikko and Ira Svobodová.

For the exhibition was created a video of the artist's work:
