Miroslav Polách (1980)
I'm interested
Miroslav Polách, a graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, is a member of a strong generation of artists who made their names known to the Czech art scene at the break of the millennium. Polách’s work has developed from a symbolic and often expressive style into a precise and “enchased” form of realistic painting. The situations depicted in his artwork are the result of carefully planned installations which serve as models for the final work. This stage is followed by post-production, and subsequently by the painting itself, which is extraordinarily demanding in its technique and technology. Polách’s work is not a typical example of the ever more popular hyperrealism; it is an exquisitely constructed and conceptually sophisticated realistic expression with a certain amount of exaggeration and situation irony. Polách often dedicates himself to serious and even existential subject-matters, which he can make available in a natural way to a wide audience.
Selected exhibitions:
Open End, Václav Špála Gallery, Prague, CZE 2020–2021
Mechanisms of the Imagination, Bethlehem Chapel Gallery, Prague, CZE, 2018
DISRUPTIVE IMAGINATION, Art Capital 2017 and Ferenczy Múzeumi Centrum – Művészet Malom, Szentendre, HUN, 2017
Discreet Communication, Vyšehrad Gallery, Prague, CZE, 2015
17:53, Gallery of Art Critics, Prague, CZE, 2013
