Alžběta Jungrová

Alžběta Jungrová (1978), an important contemporary Czech photographer, is one of the founding members of the 400 ASA group. For many years, her work was based on the genres of documentary and reportage, for which she travelled a great deal with her camera. She photographed in Cambodia, the largest tanker breaking yard in Chittagong, Bangladesh, armed children and civilians in the Gaza Strip, and drug addicts on the Afghan-Pakistani border, for which she received an honourable mention from Czech Press Photo. However, we can also find Nukak Indians in the Colombian jungle in her pictures, and she received a UN High Commissioner Award for her photographs from a Burmese refugee camp in Bangladesh. Although she has reaped many successes for her reporting, she has decided to leave this environment and devote herself mainly to freelance work. Throughout her photographic journey, she has remained faithful to people and her interest in their fates. She is represented by 4D Photo, one of the most prestigious agencies in the field of commercial photography.
