Pavla Malinová (1985)
I'm interested
Pavla Malinová is one of the most prominent painters of contemporary Czech art scene with an international recognition. This is evidenced by her participation in the finals of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award in 2019; a prestigious Czech competition in which a jury, composed of representatives of leading Czech and foreign art institutions, select five finalists, whose work shows the potential to succeed on the international art scene, both in terms of content and form. Malinová presented her works in important Czech and foreign institutions, (for example Brussels, Berlin, and Krakow at the travelling exhibition Orient, then in Katowice in the Szara Gallery at the exhibition Labyrinth of the Soul). Her work is characterised by spiritual and even psychological-esoteric figurative painting; retrospective symbolism referring to historical artistic styles, a dynamic play of transitions between 2D and 3D spaces, and especially brilliant work with colour.
Selected exhibitions:
A series of collective exhibitions entitled Orient: Kim?, Riga, LVA/ Bozar, Brussels, BEL / Bunkier Sztuki, Kraków, POL, 2018
Summer Art Salon 2017, Kodl Gallery, Prague, CZE, 2017
Keyhole, Labyrinth of the Soul, Galeria Szara, Katowice, POL, 2017
