Stefan Milkov (1955)
I'm interested
Stefan Milkov is a sought-after artist and founding member of the Tvrdohlaví group, whose work is represented in many important Czech and foreign collections, both public and private. His approach is postmodern, but it also hides admiration for classical modern sculpture of the first half of the 20th century. Characteristic smooth, very elegant lines and the use of unusual perspective abbreviations prove the artist's many years of sculptural experience, supported by selected training at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Uherské Hradiště and later at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. The choices of the processed topics do not deny the author's typical, postmodernist and ironic language, which, however, does not deny the sculptor's respect for ancient archetypal symbols, often referring to distant non-European cultures
Selected exhibitions:
Restless Times, Václav Špála Gallery, Prague, CZE, 2019
Stefan Milkov – Sculpture, House of Arts, Opava, CZE, 2019
Forman – Milkov, Ludvík Kuba Gallery in Poděbrady, CZE, 2018
Selection 2003–2013, Magna Gallery, Ostrava, CZE, 2013
Sculptures, models, projects, visions, Malostranská beseda Gallery, Prague, CZE, 2010–2011
The Art of Childbirth, Trade Fair Palace, NG, Prague, CZE, 2007
