Results of the 90th auction – contemporary art

In recent years, contemporary art has made up twenty percent of the KODL Gallery’s auction offer. This confirms the growing interest in the work of contemporary artists. As usual, this generation was represented by well-known names at the jubilee 90th auction of the KODL Gallery. Many authors even broke their personal records.

The works of contemporary artists presented at this year’s 90th KODL Gallery auction through KodlContemporary achieved extraordinary success.

Lukáš Novák’s hand-ground glass object Pretty Mirage / MAT – 0901-2023 was sold for CZK 540,000. Records were also set by Štefan Tóth’s oil on canvas The Work of Art (CZK 192,000), Ira Svobodová’s acrylic on canvas Void 50 (CZK 420,000) and the photographer Alžběta Jungrová’s Aquatic (CZK 276,000). Another record was broken by the canvas of the FIRMA (COMPANY) art group (Michal Cimala, Jan Kaláb, Martin Krajc, Michal Škapa, Matěj Olmer, Pasta Oner and Karel Štědrý). The buyer paid CZK 960,000 for the work named Firma IV (Company IV). The object Coeur d'Automne V by the French artist Louise Frydman was auctioned for CZK 300,000.

The works of other artists also aroused interest. Josef Bolf’s Hřiště (Playing Field) rose from the starting price of CZK 250,000 to CZK 600,000. The buyer paid CZK 1.1 million for Jan Kaláb’s object Flame of Life (starting price CZK 350,000). As usual, the works of Pasta Oner, Jan Pištěk and Stefan Milkov were also successful.
