Mária Švarbová (1988)  I'm interested

Mária Švarbová is a Slovak photographer who has gained recognition in an international context with her distinctive style. In her photographs, she focuses especially on experimenting with space, colour, and atmosphere, and they mainly reflect her interest in the architecture and public space of the socialist era. She creates visually clear, carefully composed scenes with modern freshness. The captured person, often seemingly depersonalised with the absence of emotions, is precisely embedded in them, and aesthetically connected with the surrounding space. This young award-winning artist, who became known to the public mainly thanks to her still unfinished series entitled Swimming Pool, is also the author of advertising campaigns for Apple and the Museum of Ice Cream in NYC, laureate of the Hasselblad Masters Award, and has been involved in the Forbes “30 Under 30” list.
