Pavla Malinová
Pavla Malinová (1985) is one of the most distinctive painters of contemporary Czech painting with international acclaim. This is evidenced by her participation in the finals of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award in 2019; a prestigious Czech competition in which a jury composed of representatives of leading Czech and foreign art institutions selects five finalists whose work, both in terms of content and form, shows the potential to stand out in the context of the international art scene. Malinová has presented her works in important Czech and international institutions (e.g. in Brussels, Berlin and Krakow at the travelling exhibition Orient or in Katowice at the Szara Gallery at the exhibition Labyrinth of the Soul). Her work is characterised by spiritual, almost psychological-esoteric figurative painting, retrospective symbolism referring to historical artistic styles, a dynamic play of transitions between 2D and 3D space and, above all, a bravura work with colour.
