Šárka Koudelová (1987). An extraordinary figure of the contemporary art scene, Šárka Koudelová, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, is a talented and unique artist whose work captivates with its depth and breadth of inner content and semantic overlaps. Medieval and Renaissance painting became one of her main inspirational platforms, which, according to the artist, can be perceived as an archetypal depiction of generally valid visual signs. But this is only if we break the prejudice of seeing the historical painting legacy as an insufficiently erudite precursor to the present, stuck in gallery institutions.
