Art helps: Charity auction of works of art at the Kunsthalle Prague
On October 15, 2024, the Kunsthalle Prague hosted the third annual charity auction of works of contemporary art in support of the Together with Courage foundation, which helps seriously ill children and their families overcome difficult periods in their lives. The obtained amount of CZK 3,391,770 will be used to finance and develop experiential therapy programs for children with serious illnesses.
The auction took place with the support of The Pudil Family Foundation, Kunsthalle Praha, KodlContemporary and the Artslimit portal, which took care of the online auction. The guests of the gala evening and those interested in connecting through Artslimit deserved an inimitable atmosphere. Even before the start of the auction itself, parents and children who used the services provided by this endowment fund in the past presented the Together with Courage activity.
The acrylic on canvas by Ira Svobodová SECTION IN ULTRAMARINE VOID enjoyed great interest from the auctioneers, which rose from the starting price of CZK 150,000 to CZK 440,000. The Janji Prokić necklace also attracted considerable attention, which was auctioned for CZK 220,000 (starting price CZK 50,000). During the evening, all other works that Michael Bielický, Erika Bornová, Rudolf Burda, Jonas Burgert, Michal Cimala, Tomáš Císařovský, Elmgreen & Dragset, Matěj Hošek, Tomáš Císařovský, Alžběta Jungrová, Milan Knížák, Stanislav Kolíbal, Pavlína Kvita, Lasvit, Laura Limburg, Martin Lukáč, Maatty, Pasta Oner, Kryštof Strejc, Michal Škapa and Štefan Tóth. They deserve gratitude and thanks for that.
Together with Courage Foundation focuses on supporting seriously and chronically ill children and their families through free therapy programs. These programs, running both offline and online, bring children back their lost childhood, joy in life, and thus alleviate the mental burden that is associated with a serious illness.
Along with courage, Bátor Tábor is part of the family, through which it is also a member of the international SeriousFun Children's Network, a camp association founded by Paul Newman in 1988. Since 2020, a separate team has been operating in the Czech Republic, whose task in recent years has been local adaptation and implementation therapeutic programs.
