Jakub Špaňhel
Jakub Špaňhel (1976) is perceived as a great talent of the Czech painting scene. From the very beginning of his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under the guidance of Milan Knížák and Jiří David, he began to be sought-after among collectors. His painting style, thematically influenced by classical painting, is very characteristic, based on a relaxed brushwork and reduced form, through which he brings out the essence of the depicted objects. In his works, he depicts traditional themes that have a strong personal value for him. He confronts them with spontaneous gestural expression and reduced form.
