VIP visitors at the Prague Playoffs, the world's largest show jumping event, could meet not only the best riders, but also contemporary art.
Leading Czech photographer Alžběta Jungová, conceptual designer Lukáš
Novák and one of the most sought-after contemporary artists, Jan Kaláb, came together for a unique event
exhibition co-organized by KodlContemporary for the PraguePlayoffs VIP lounge.
Subduing the boundaries of artistic media and stepping out of the comfort zone, it connects differently
the diverse work of these three unique authors.
The primary source of inspiration for the free work of the renowned Czech photographer and founder
members of the 400 ASA group Alžběta Jungrová is a woman's inner strength and fragility and
interpersonal relationships. The plurality of the female soul was reflected in the multiplicity at the exhibition
approaches to the photographic medium. Working with light, reflections and structural contrasts
also penetrated into the conceptual approach to the resulting material processing
photographs and their display in the space.
From the roots of graffiti and street art, the work of Jan Kaláb proceeds from the street
time, she made her way onto the walls of renowned world galleries. Sophisticated compositional
a system of handmade blind frames of organic shapes presented visually by the author
captivating works of art blurring the line between image and object.
Perfect craftsmanship and pushing the boundaries of technological feasibility
glass sculptures is part of the artistic identity of the conceptual designer Lukáš
Novak. Monumental Pretty crystals cut from a single blog of optical glass
Mirage occupied the PraguePlayOffs VIP lounge and tempted the eyes of the arriving spectators
optical illusions. In them, Lukáš Novák pointed out the unreliability of the sensory
perception, which due to lived experience is often subject to confusion with real and
fictitious (and vice versa).
