Lubomír Typlt
Lubomír Typlt (1975). Lubomír Typlt’s artistic expression was formed during his studies – first under Professor Jiří Šalamoun at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, then under Professor Jiří Načeradský at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno and finally at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf. Alongside geometric abstract compositions set in empty, indeterminate worlds, the figure became the focus of the artist’s next interest – especially the child, always fascinated by the lived. Typlt’s work is characterised by specific, contrasting and unprecedentedly varied colours. He enjoys using the technique of gouache, which bridges the expressive transitions between drawing and painting and is characterised by spontaneity, gestural liveliness and formal refinement. He currently lives alternately in Berlin and Prague.
