Pavlína Kvita
Pavlína Kvita’s (1988) artistic expression balances on the boundary between organic and coldly technical forms, combining personal mythology, animal and human worlds and immobile architectural shapes. It is as if the ancient meets the very contemporary. An important part of her sculptures is the principle of movement and the possibility of its transforma- tion. This is reflected not only in her current work, in which she uses mainly concrete and acrylic, but also in her older pieces, where she dealt with suburban landscapes in the form of satellite developments arising on the outskirts of large cities, i.e. a form of post-land- scapes. In these inanimate structures, a sense of impermanence and transformation is present in a similar way as in her living, slightly futuristic beings, headless torsos and organic creatures. At the same time, the sculptures always reflect the presence of the four basic elements – fire, water, earth and air, as well as sensitive work with the duality of birth and hope, extinction and death. Against the background of personal experience, it is a constant search for stability in life, for a certain inner exploration of things and archetypes that have existed since time immemorial but are still relevant. Pavlína Kvita is a graduate of the Sculpture Studio of Lukáš Rittstein at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, she has successfully participated in a number of sculpture competitions and has had many solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad. Her works are represented in a number of private collections not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Germany and the USA.
